Royal street party recipes fit for a prince

17th May 2018

We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait for the royal wedding this weekend! Why not raise a glass to Harry and Meghan on Saturday and organise a street party or gathering with friends and family?

Hang up your bunting and get out the paper cups with a party full of food, fun, family and friends. Remember the food is just as important as those Union Jack flags, so pay close attention to what you’ll be serving to your neighbours!

What better way to keep it truly British than cooking with the humble spud? Because of their versatility, you can cook them in a variety of ways to ensure your party dishes taste as good as they look.

We’ve rounded up some of our favourite recipes that will put last year’s cheese and pineapple and cucumber sandwiches to shame!

Potato salad with sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella

A potato salad is an essential part of any buffet and this recipe gives it a tasty Mediterranean twist.

New potato and harissa-marinated halloumi skewers

Nothing says British summertime more than a barbecue! This vegetarian alternative is a great crowd pleaser and adds freshness and spice.

Potato and salmon patties

These patties are perfect finger food and a great way to use up leftover mash. They’re quick, easy and perfect for sharing.

Saucy Spanish-style potatoes

This potatas bravas style dish is ideal for a street party. With a little kick of paprika mixed with the sweetness of sherry vinegar, it’s a great alternative to a traditional potato salad.

Spinach, ricotta and tomato frittata

This is a great recipe that can be made the night before, or served warm with a green salad.
