How to Enter
To enter the competition, each school team will develop and cook a creative potato-based recipe
Create your Recipe
Adapt or invent a tasty recipe using tates. Check the quantities and timings work out. Cook it up, try it out and make sure it tastes good.
Upload drawings or photos
Take photos of the finished dish, or the key steps in the recipe and upload them. Or you could scan in some drawings of your recipe.
Send your step-by-step guide
Complete the online form with details of the ingredients used and clear instructions on how to recreate your Tate Off recipe.
Each recipe should include:
- A creative recipe title
- Prep time, cooking time and number of servings
- Ingredients and whether they’ve been locally sourced
- Method/cooking instructions
- Image(s) or drawings of the dish
- Nutritional information (if possible)
Judging will be split in to three stages:
Longlisting stage - Entries will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges from Branston and the LAS education team, who will make the selection for upload to the Seasonal Spuds website.
Shortlisting stage - the public will vote to shortlist their favourite recipes
Final stage - entries will be judged by the Lincolnshire chefs
The chefs will judge the recipes by the following:
- Design and presentation
- Health and nutritional benefits
- Use of locally sourced ingredients
The winning recipes will feature in a special recipe e-book, which will be available as a free download from our Seasonal Spuds website and the Lincolnshire Showground website.
The winner from each category will get the chance to take part in a virtual cooking session with a local chef as well as being awarded special prizes for each member of the team.
